That said, none of these courses will have pre-requisites, so feel free to take any course that piques your interest. Woodworking I: Introduction to Woodshop- Serving Boards -- Learn how to safely use essential wood shop equipment such as the miter saw, planer, jointer, table saw, bandsaw, router table, and more.
Woodworking II: Wall-hung Display Shelves -- Beginner joinery such as butt, rabbet, dowel, domino, pocket holes, grooves, dados, french cleats and more.
Woodworking III: Bench Hook and Wood Mallet -- Intermediate joinery such as sliding dovetails and the mortise and tenon.
Woodworking IV: Dovetailed Step Stool (TBA)-- Advanced joinery such as handcut dovetails. This course will focus on layout, cutting pins and tails for a perfect fit... and fixing gaps post-mortem.
Woodworking V: Bending & Laminations Serving Tray (TBA)-- Advanced topics such as bending on a hot iron and using multi-part or structural forms to build laminations.
Learn how to safely use essential wood shop equipment while building a hardwood serving tray! No prior experience needed for this course, all supplies and materials are provided. Participants will be introduced to each machine, provided operational overview, safety considerations, and have hands-on experience. This 2.5-hour workshop teaches how to use large stationary woodworking machines, including the miter saw, jointer, planer, table saw, band saw, The workshop is hosted at Clear Creek Makerspace and open to everyone. CCM members will receive an email to the Woodshop Quiz at the end of this course. Passing this short quiz is part of the requirement for members to gain 24/7 personal woodshop access.

Beginner friendly course to learn basic woodworking joinery by building a wall-hung display shelf. The shelf extent dimesions will be about 16 x 15 x 4". Participants will be introduced to each machine, provided operational overview, safety considerations, and have hands-on experience. Over the course of this 4-hour workshop we will be using dimensional lumber to create a wall-hung display shelf using a variety of beginner friendly joinery such as dados, rabbets, dowels, dominos, and french cleats.

Beginner friendly course to learn basic woodworking joinery by building a bench hook and wood mallet -- essential woodworking tools! This 3-hour workshop focuses on the sliding dovetail and handcut mortise and tenons. These joints are using in cabinetry, chairs, desks, and other fine furniture. Participants will build a bench hook and wood mallet. These are essential woodworking tools and we will be using them throughout the next workshop in this series, Dovetailed Step Stool. Emphasis is placed on safety, accuracy, alignment, and understanding when and why each joint is used.

Learn new skills while building a beautiful hardwood keepsake box. In this hands-on workshop, you will be guided on how to safely use the professional-quality woodshop machines at Clear Creek Makerspace.
Our very first challenge will be to craft custom marquetry for your lid panel, up to 5x8". You will create a simple design and decorate your panel with either hand-cut or CNC laser assisted marquetry!
Step-by-step, you will learn how to veneer your own panels, grain match layout techniques, cut seamless miters for a box, grooves for panels, decorative keys, cutting the lid from an enclosed box, fitting hinges for your lid, as well as sanding and finishing.
Materials and supplies will be provided for you, including a selection of hardwood lumber, veneer, MDF panels, and hardware.
